Cinnamon has powerful positive effect on our blood sugar, or I should say it can have powerful effects.
That’s because many conventional cinnamon brands on the shelves are not the types of cinnamon that have been shown to aid in blood sugar control. Some are even technically saw dust with cinnamon oil drops!
When selecting cinnamon you want to look for organic Ceylon, Saigon or Korintje cinnamon. Ceylon cinnamon, however, is still always the clear winner for me in terms of flavor and health benefits.
It can be a bit pricier, but I’ve found Whole Foods Organic Fair Trade Ceylon Cinnamon to be the most cost effective.
