Birch Benders Paleo Toaster Waffles
My new favorite frozen waffles!
With < 10g of carbs per waffle (which is less than 1 slice of bread) from one special ingredient. Tigernut flour! Now tigernuts arenβt actually nuts, but fiber-rich tubers that are dried and ground into a flour. So itβs nut-free AND gluten-free so most with any dietary sensitivities can enjoy them! But probably my favorite fact about tigernuts is that they are high in RESISTANT STARCH.
Resistant starch is starch that passes through your GI tract without actually being digested and absorbed, which can help keep your blood sugars stable and keep you fuller longer. Win win. Resistant starch also acts as a prebiotic (the food for the good bacteria=probiotics) in your gut!
One of my favorite ways to have one of these is as a quick pre-workout snack topped with almond butter, warm smashed berries, chia seeds, ceylon cinnamon, and a sprinkle of Himalayan salt. So delicious.
